Getting enough sleep every night is crucial to human health. Sleep is a natural periodic state of rest for the mind and body in which the eyes are closed and consciousness is completely or partially lost.
Yet about 40% of adults suffer from Insomnia (lack of sleep at night) the center for disease control has called our lack of sleep a public health epidemic, so it is important we make sleep a priority in our life. How much sleep you need daily according to your age is very important to human health.
Here is how much sleep you need according to your age according to the national sleep foundation:
1. Newborn babies (0 to 3 month); 14 to 17 hours,
2. Infants (4 to 11 months); 12 to 15 hours,
3. Toddlers (1 to 2 years); 11 to 14 hours,
4. Preschool (3 to 5years); 10 to 13 hours,
5. School age (6 to 13 years); 10 to 13 hours,
6. Teenagers (14 to 17 years); 8 to 10 hours,
7. Young adults (18 to 25years); 7 to 9 hours,
8. Adults (25 to 65 years); 7 to 9 hours,
9. Older adults (65+ years); 7 to 8 hours.
